7 Beautiful Children's Picture Books We Love

Oct 20
3 min read

One of my favourite parts of the day is getting into bed with my girls and reading them a story. It’s our little bit of time at the end of a busy day to cuddle up, have a chat, and just be together.

Of course, we read plenty of Peppa Pig and all the Julia Donaldson favourites, but there are some books we seem to come back to again and again. The ones I never mind reading on repeat (within reason...!)

I’m really drawn to beautiful illustrations in children's storybooks, and all of the books in this list are so colourful and lovely to look through. I also love books that encourage my girls to be themselves, be curious about the world, and grow up knowing the importance of kindness and friendship.

So I thought I’d share a few of our favourites — the special stories that have earned their place on our bookshelf and that we love coming back to at bedtime. They’d all make lovely birthday gifts, too, and have been enjoyed by both my almost-three-year-old and my six-year-old. If you’re looking for something new to read with your little ones, hopefully you’ll find a lovely addition here, too.
